A barn owl design made from tempered steel with a beautiful rainbow patina.

My wall mounted metal art is all made to last from high quality 2 mm steel. To create the patina I used a gas torch to temper the metal. It’s an amazing process, like painting with fire. Each piece is completely unique. I then apply a layer of clear acrylic spray to seal and protect the surface; otherwise the coloured patina is susceptible to scratching and corrosion.

In order to ensure the longevity of the rainbow patina it is recommended to keep my heat treated designs indoors. I also make the owl design in sealed rusted steel, or stainless steel, both of which are perfectly durable outdoors.

The artwork is supplied with an easy to use  ‘invisible’ hanging system of strong magnets and screws. Please note drilling is required to attach the two magnets to the wall (screws are provided).
