Summer Art Workshops at Williamson Park, Lancaster

I’m running two art workshops at Williamson Park this summer. They’re ideal for anyone who’d like a shot at drawing and painting but can’t manage regular art classes. Numbers will be restricted to allow plenty individual tuition.

Booking essential – contact Janet at jmr@jmr.org.uk or 07786 868783. I’m away on holiday between 28th June and 6th July but either email to reserve a place or leave a message and I’ll get back to you asap.

Time: 10.30-4.30, including breaks.
Cost: £40 or two for £70.
Materials available on request for a small charge. Details of what to bring etc will be given beforehand via email.

Wednesday 9th July

Drawing and painting birds and animals from life. Practise drawing moving subjects, capturing the essence of your subject. An extremely good way to improve your drawing skills. We will have a variety of different models!

Opportunity to either spend the whole day sketching, or to use some of your sketches to create a more finished masterpiece. Learn some techniques for drawing and painting fur and feathers. Suitable for any level.

Please note this workshop is not really suitable for those who have a snake phobia – we won’t have the snakes out of their tanks but they will be visible!

Wednesday 20th August

Watercolour/ink painting. We will start the day practicing different techniques for mixing and applying paint, and then spend some time either outside or in the Butterfly House, sketching. We will then use our sketches to work on a more finished painting. Suitable for any level.
