A small watercolour sketch of four pansies. Painted at my Art in the Park class in the Ashton Memorial yesterday. Perched on top of the hill with the wind howling around us, it felt like February not May. The class were practising watercolour techniques, it is our aim to get back outside sketching if/when spring returns.
Flowers with several colours are ideal for watercolour because using a wet in wet technique you can allow the water to mix the colours for you, swirling into one another.
