Janet teaches art from her studio in Halton Mill, by the River Lune, on Tuesday mornings, Wednesday mornings, and Thursday evenings. The classes run year-round, approximately following school term dates, payment and bookings are taken every six weeks. New members are always welcome if there is space, please contact Janet with any enquiries.

The art classes focus on improving skills in drawing and painting, working in a variety of different media and techniques throughout the year. The classes are small and friendly, with no more than 10 people, and are open to people of all abilities and experience. Janet offers extensive individual tuition. Recent topics have included:
- Drawing in various media
- Acrylic painting- various aspects inc. using palette knifes, sketching, composition/layout, tackling and completing a large finished painting
- Watercolour – various techniques from expressive wet in wet to detailed botanical studies
- Ink painting and drawing
- Monotype printmaking
- Portraiture and figure drawing from life
- Still life
