I’ve been enjoying experimenting with monoprinting the last couple of days (simple drawing based printmaking). I love how well sketches translate into prints and even though it may seem slightly pointless using a form of printmaking that doesn’t make duplicates, I think these prints possess a quality of line that is really different to the original drawings. I tried some different approaches  using drawings from my sketchbooks as reference. The elephants were particularly good to draw. The elephants and the cat, Louis, were drawn directly onto the ink, then I pressed the paper on top, whereas the boats and the poppies were drawn through paper on top of the plate.
