Shamelessly plugging two upcoming events. Firstly, the opening of Elemental, an exhibition by my studio group, Ellel Artists, on Friday 26th April. The exhibition in Lancaster Environment Centre will feature recent work by myself, Roy Smith, Gwenda Meredith, Rosa Mackinder and Wes Martin. For those of you who were lucky enough to attend the last Ellel Artists’ exhibition opening way back last June, you may remember that it was ‘quite’ lively. I’d recommend getting there early if you wish to partake of the refreshments.
I’ll be showing some of my wave paintings for the first time. You can see some of them here . These have all been painted since returning from South Africa in February. Painted by hand, literally, with the occasional use of a decorating brush and palette knife. Increasingly I seem to be moving away from conventional painting tools. I’m also going to show some chickenwire chickens that I made for absolutely no reason whatsoever.
Secondly, in May I’m starting a new Wednesday morning art class at Williamson’s Park in Lancaster. This will be focussing on the art of drawing and painting plants, animals and the amazing landscape and surrounds of the park. Please get in touch if you’re interested and please spread the word…thanks!
